American Single Malt Whiskey is one of the hottest spirits on the market, so here is a fun cocktail to dive into.
American Single Malt Whiskey is one of the fastest-growing categories of spirits on the market right now. It was recently added to the list of United States Standards of Identity, so it is now an official category of spirits (like Bourbon, Gin, Vodka, etc.). You will start seeing more of this spirit around, so here is a new cocktail celebrating it.

This is a great recipe to try out if you like a sweeter whiskey cocktail. With the addition of this beautiful red pomegranate syrup, it is also the perfect drink to celebrate with your sweetheart over Valentine’s Day.
Recipe (1 serving)
3 Parts American Single Malt Whiskey
1 Part Pomegranate Syrup (recipe below)
1 Part Ginger Liqueur
1 Dash of Cardamom Bitters
Shake with ice vigorously until fully incorporated; Serve over a large ice cube and garnish with fresh pomegranate seeds.
Products I used: Clermont Steep American Single Malt Whiskey, Domaine de Canton Ginger Liqueur, and Scrappy’s Cardamom Bitters

Pomegranate Syrup
Combine equal parts pomegranate juice and sugar in a saucepan (I used 4 cups of each for my recipe in the video above – this amount yields a larger batch. If you only need this syrup for the cocktail, I’d recommend using 1-2 cups of each).
Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then turn down to a low temperature and simmer for 45 minutes.
Allow to cool and enjoy in your favorite cocktail, on top of ice cream or other desserts.
