Margaritas aren’t just for Cinco de Mayo – make this cocktail today!
A good margarita is my love language, so I can attest that this Jalapeño Pomegranate Margarita is one you don’t want to miss. It is a lovely balance of sweet, spicy, and tart. The recipe for the jalapeño pomegranate syrup can be found below. This amazing syrup can be used in countless cocktails and will last for months in the fridge.

Jalapeño Pomegranate Margarita Recipe (1 serving)
– 1.5 oz tequila
– .75 oz orange liqueur
– .75 oz Jalapeño – Pomegranate Syrup (Recipe Below)
– 1 medium lime (juiced)
- Add your ingredients to a shaker filled with ice.
- Shake vigorously until fully emulsified.
- Strain your drink and serve over ice (I’m a sucker for good pebble ice – I love this pebble ice maker).
- Garnish with a lime half-moon slice.
I used Grand Marnier Cordon Rouge Orange Liqueur and La Gritona Tequila
Jalapeño Pomegranate Syrup
- Combine equal parts pomegranate juice and sugar in a saucepan (I used 4 cups of each for my recipe in the video above – this amount yields a larger batch. If you only need this syrup for the cocktail, I’d recommend using 1-2 cups of each).
- Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then turn down to a low temperature and simmer for 45 minutes.
- Add in fresh slices of jalapeño and simmer for 10-15 minutes longer.
- Strain solids out and allow to cool.
