One Pomegranate Syrup Two Ways = Countless Cocktail Options. Now you can easily host both friends who love spicy cocktails and those who want to keep it on the sweeter side.
This syrup is easy to make and if you make half of it spicy with the addition of jalapeños, you will be able to easily offer a wide variety of cocktails to guests with very little extra effort.
Ingredients:
- 4 Cups 100% Pomegranate Juice
- 4 Cups Sugar
- 4-6 Fresh Jalapeños
I used 4 cups of each pomegranate juice and sugar for my recipe in the video – this amount yields a larger batch. If you only need this syrup for one cocktail, I’d recommend using 1-2 cups of each.
You can use a different juice, just make sure it is 100% juice. I love using cranberry juice around the holidays.
Snag these cute glass bottles to store your excess syrup.
I) Pomegranate Syrup
- Combine equal parts pomegranate juice and sugar in a saucepan.
- Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then turn down to a low temperature and simmer for 45 minutes.
- Allow to cool.
At this point, you have a gorgeous pomegranate syrup for cocktails, ice cream, drizzling on desserts, etc.
II) Jalapeño Pomegranate Syrup
- Pour half of your pomegranate syrup into a saucepan.
- Add fresh jalapeño slices.
- Simmer for 10-15mins.
- Strain solids out and allow to cool.
*This spicier syrup can also be used for cocktails, ice cream, drizzling on desserts, etc.
