Meet your new favorite drink this season — a beautifully balanced sake cocktail that’s a feast for all your senses.
The Feast: A Sake-Based Cocktail is light, citrusy, and just a little unexpected. If you’re hosting—or honestly, just pretending you are on a random Tuesday—this is the drink. It’s the kind of cocktail that feels elevated without trying too hard… the one your guests ask about after the first sip.
Bright lime, delicate sake, and that subtle cherry note from Luxardo come together in a way that’s fresh, clean, and quietly complex. Add in the aromatics from lime zest and kaffir lime leaf, and suddenly you’ve got something that feels a little extra—in the best way.
This is your go-to for sushi nights, summer dinners, or anytime you want your drink to feel just as curated as the table. It pairs perfectly with sushi, seafood, and fresh, simple menus. If you’re feeling really ambitious, you could always add this to your own Feast of Seven Fishes menu.
The Feast: A Sake-Based Cocktail Recipe (1 serving)
– 2 oz unfiltered sake
– 1 oz fresh lime juice
– .75 oz simple syrup
– .5 oz Luxardo maraschino liqueur
– Fresh lime zest (for garnish)
– Kaffir lime leaves (for garnish; available at most Asian markets)
- Add sake, lime juice, simple syrup, and Luxardo to a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
- Shake vigorously (aim for about 50 shakes) until the mixture is well-chilled and slightly frothy.
- Strain into a chilled coupe glass.
- Finish with a light dusting of fresh lime zest and garnish with a kaffir lime leaf.
Pro Tip: Keep your kaffir lime leaves in the freezer to preserve their vibrant aroma and freshness—just pull one out whenever you’re ready to elevate your cocktail.
I used Tozai Snow Maiden Sake – it has flavors of honeydew melon, raw pumpkin, and radish with a creamy texture and full body.
